Arbitration provides a forum for resolving disputes outside of the courts. Parties involved in a dispute agree to refer their dispute to a third party arbitrator, known as a "neutral." The arbitrator reviews the documents provided by the parties in support of their respective positions to reach a decision on the merits of the claims.

Defamation occurs when a false statement of fact is made to another which injures a person's reputation. The First Amendment of the United States' Constitution holds that "Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech or of the press." Many people interpret this as the right to say anything you want to anyone, about anyone, at any time and in any place, including the public domain of the internet.

If an internet posting on a website like or, among others, falsely accuses you of wrongdoing, you can challenge the post through our services. Truth in Posting provides independent arbitration services to review the validity of internet postings. All participating websites have agreed to remove postings that are found by TIP to be unsubstantiated.
